2018 in Review

The last few months of the year are always such a whirlwind here; now that 2018 has come to a close and we have welcomed in a new year we finally have time to reflect on all that has happened in the last twelve months. It’s an understatement to say that 2018 was our best year yet!

Over the year we held 63 weddings and hosted over 8,000 guests (don’t worry 2019 couples, we buff the dance floor every winter). From surprise fireworks and Irish dancing to a bride Icing her sister after the maid of honor speech there were many special memories that took place on the grounds, it was hard to choose our favorite highlights.

In March we hosted the first annual South Berwick Historical Dinner, where we took a trip into the past and experienced an authentic 18th century evening. Our executive chef Mike Morgera and Will Hosken along with guest chefs Julie from Cure in Portsmouth and Gary from the Wentworth in Newcastle prepared a traditional meal paired with various libations provided by North Country Cider and Tributary Brewing Company. Mark your calendars for March 23, 2019 and purchase your tickets for this year’s event through the South Berwick Historical Society.

In May we had our first wedding ceremony using our new benches, which were hand-crafted by the team at Backburner Designs in Somersworth, NH. We love how they add the perfect rustic flair to the Wedding Garden and provide a unique seating alternative to traditional garden chairs.

Once the summer began we were in full swing with weddings. There is no better way to spend a beautiful summer evening than getting married under the shade of an ancient maple tree and then dancing the night away in an elegant barn.

Once the leaves started to change and we said hello to autumn we began to enjoy apple cider donuts, fall inspired signature drinks, and all things pumpkin. The property and barn are the perfect setting for a fall inspired wedding with our cozy fireplaces and jaw-dropping foliage.

In December we were absolutely thrilled to receive both the Knot’s Best of Weddings Award and Wedding Wire’s Couples’ Choice Award. These awards are based on reviews and celebrate vendors who exhibit superior service within the wedding industry. Receiving these awards are an achievement we strive towards every year, and we are honored to be considered one of the top wedding professionals in the area.

Another piece of information that we are excited to share is that construction has begun on the Stagehouse Inn. A historic landmark in South Berwick, the inn will be the newest addition to the Outlook Farm family. Consisting of 22 rooms and conveniently located in downtown South Berwick, the Stagehouse Inn will be the ideal lodging choice for wedding parties and guests. The opening date is expected to be early 2020; be sure to look out for updates on this exciting new venture.

We already have three weddings out of 70 for the 2019 season under our belts! We can't wait to see what this new year brings, and can’t wait to celebrate with you all.
