When you think about Maine the first things that come to mind might be lobsters, moose (meese?) and lighthouses. But our little slice of heaven is so much more than that. Maine is one of the top travel destinations in the world (hence the name Vacationland). With its rugged coastline, immense state forests, and extraordinary history, it’s no wonder millions of people visit the state every year.

Hosting a wedding in Maine gives your guests the chance to explore the area we call home. Located in York County, the Red Barn at Outlook Farm is a gateway to the southern Maine seacoast, making it the perfect jumping off point for your next Maine adventure. Some of our favorite activities to do in the area include:

  1. Stay at the Stage House Inn

  2. Dine at Dufour

  3. Play a Round at the Links at Outlook

  4. Mount Agamenticus

  5. Nubble Lighthouse

  6. North Country Hard Cider

  7. York Beaches

  8. Portsmouth, NH

  9. Vaughn Woods

  10. Hamilton House

The Inn has 20 guest rooms, a private function space and a restaurant open to the public. We are thrilled to share its historical charm with the community and travelers alike.

Dine at Dufour

Dufour is the restaurant located inside the Stage House Inn. Open to the public and offering inside and outside seating, Dufour is happy to feature menus with fresh, local ingredients. Order a signature craft cocktail or glass of wine and enjoy it on the farmer’s porch overlooking South Berwick’s Main Street.

Grab a Drink at North Country Hard Cider

Okay, this one is technically in New Hampshire, but we couldn’t not put North Country on the list. A local favorite, North Country crafts small batch ciders that can be enjoyed on their outside patio overlooking the Salmon Falls River. Located just minutes from the Red Barn, it’s where you’ll find us on a nice summer day after work.

Explore Portsmouth, NH

Yes, this is another New Hampshire entry, but we just love Portsmouth too much to exclude it from the list. The quirky local shops, the nightlife, the waterfront dining, and the colorful history are just a few things that we love about this vibrant port town. Located just 25 minutes from the Red Barn, Portsmouth is a quintessential New England town that will be sure to impress any out of towner.
